Parker Commercial Services
Parker Commercial Storage and Distribution, Inc. provides
to many customers a variety of options in regards to the
requests of each customer.
Millions upon millions of pounds of tobacco, domestic
and foreign quality leaf have passed through the Parker Warehouse
facility. Offshore cigarette customers utilize our U.S.
Customs Bonded Warehouse for several reasons. Duty is deferred
until the cigarettes are shipped from the port warehouse;
secondly Louisville’s excellent location permits quicker
delivery response to their customers, and thirdly, the service
that we provide is second to none. Picking and sorting is
a definite requirement.
Liquor of many various shapes and sizes are an ongoing
commodity that requires, from time to time, various handling
needs.
Automotive parts arrive on a daily basis and are basically
on J.I.T. schedule. Furniture arrives, either fully created
or mangled, throughout the container. Heavy or light, doesn’t
matter the job gets done on a timely basis.
Personal effects are the most fun. You know what people
find overseas.
Rubber to tires, machine parts to screws and nuts, airplanes
to motorbikes, basically anything to everything, is imported
and inspected by U.S. Customs.
Export Logs = Parker, in the year of 1986, designed the
Parker Pak Log Loader where the time to load overseas container
was cut to a two-man operation, (from 3 men) and the manhours
were cut from 8.5 manhours to half or less, depending upon
the type and size of the logs. Our in-house workshop provides
the necessary means to design and develop various machines
and attachments to increase overall productivity. We never
say no to the customer, or haven’t yet. We will always
find a proper and safe way to accommodate the customer.
Federal, State, and Government contracts are always performed
with the proper attitude where verifying and providing proper
documentation, and maintaining complete and accurate information
and control is sometimes tedious, but it’s also rewarding.
Someone had to do it, and we do our very best to satisfy
everyone concerned.
Transloading product is one of our specialties, either
from container to trucks, or from van to van, or from railcar
to van to rail. We can do it all.
The U.S. Customs Port of Louisville is located at the Parker
facility and has been since 1987. The U.S. Customs Container
Freight Station and Exam Station allows importers to direct
their entire container loads of products to Louisville,
Kentucky, bypassing the seaports, which saves tremendous
amounts of money and valuable time.
Location, location, location! – Is a key ingredient
for customers to utilize our facility. Door to door rates
are quoted, so to not create confusion, and is an inexpensive
way to ship product. Since Kentucky is so centralized in
the U.S., this allows for lower transportation costs to
their customers on a more timely basis.
Product arrives to our facility in many configurations
to occupy the entire container space. Seventy percent
of all imported product arrives floor loaded, it is then
placed on pallets, which are either shipped out on pallets
or reloaded in original form on the floor. Much of the product
is palletized and shrink-wrapped. We provide, if needed:
stenciling, repacking, pick and pull, assembly, recount
and inventory maintenance.
Our service is second to none, where quality handling is
considered mandatory, but also it is just good management
pride.
Louisville, Kentucky, being located centrally within the
United States, enhances our facility and provides a safe
and secure area for logistics companies to park full or
empty trailers. The procedures for complete log in and out
verifies the entire inventory control and provides a great
savings to the companies who require these services.
